Dane Decor: Proof That Real Estate Is About People, Not Just Property

Real estate deals? They come in all shapes and sizes—some straightforward, some a tangled web of negotiations, zoning laws, and lender approvals. And then there are the ones that redefine what a deal even is. The ones that remind you why you do this work in the first place.

This was one of those deals.

It started with a Danish furniture store, two interested buyers, and one non-negotiable condition: both buildings had to sell together. No exceptions.

Mission Community Church saw potential in the front building—a space that had once been a church, ready to be returned to its roots. Diplomat Closet Design was drawn to the second. But making this work? That meant balancing the expectations of two very different buyers, their lenders, and a seller who was representing a group of siblings, each with their own stake in the outcome.

And then, of course, there was the Borough—a wildcard in every real estate transaction, infamous for its slow-moving, bureaucratic red tape.

And then Hurricane Ida hit.

The community flooded. Lives were upended. The deal came to a screeching halt.

But something remarkable happened. The seller, instead of focusing on pushing the transaction forward or protecting their own interests, opened the doors to Mission Community Church. The space became a disaster relief hub. Volunteers gathered there. Families found supplies, comfort, and support. The kitchen churned out warm meals for anyone in need.

And the Borough noticed.

The same officials we had worried would block this deal? They became its biggest champions. Suddenly, the red tape disappeared. Every zoning concern, every potential roadblock—it all melted away. The church wasn’t just welcomed back into the community. It became an essential part of it.

This deal wasn’t just about closing a transaction. It was about people, about impact, about a moment that revealed exactly why real estate isn’t just about properties—it’s about purpose.

Real Estate With Heart

I don’t work with clients who see buildings as just square footage. I work with those who see them as something more—spaces that shape communities, bring people together, and create something meaningful.

If you’re navigating a deal that’s layered, complex, or even a little messy, you don’t need a broker—you need a partner. Someone who will walk beside you, think creatively, and bring clarity to the process.

Let’s build something that matters. Let’s transact with heart.
